As you've probably noticed, feathers are a huge trend right now. Everywhere I go, I see feather earrings, hair extensions, fascinators--you name it! Well, I decided to put a little spin on that trend by making a super easy feather and braided leather bracelet.
What you'll need:
Craft feathers
Beads
Leather cord
Scissors
Crimp beads
Eyepins
Jump rings
Pliers/ wire cutters
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pick some feathers you want to use for the bracelet. I picked a small one and a larger one originally and decided to use just the larger one later on. You can use as many as you like.
Wrap the top of the wire into a small loop.
Place a crimp bead over your feather's tips and crimp it down. At this point, you can also crimp an eyepin along with the feathers so you can attach them to the bracelet, but I'm going to skip that step and wrap an eyepin around the feathers to create some visual interest instead.
Cut three lengths of leather cord that are long enough to wrap and tie around your wrist. Braid the strands together and tie knots at both ends.
Wrap an eyepin around your feathers and bend the loop up. Crimp the wire coil so it's tight around the feathers.
Place the feathers and the beads onto a jump ring and attach the jump ring to the middle of the braid by looping it around one of the strands of leather.
Tie it around your wrist and you're done!
This bracelet is really cute! I'll have to give this a shot sometime.
Thanks! I started out making something completely different and it became this after I realized I didn't have the materials for my other two ideas haha. But I'm really happy with how it turned out, too.
Cute
I couldn't believe that these are handmade! You could start a line of bridal jewelry in NYC with these.
