T-Shirt Recon: How To Make A Skeleton T-Shirt

Hey everyone! Today I have a T-shirt reconstruction for you that requires very little sewing.
The end result will turn the back of your shirt into a skeletal spine and rib cage:

What you'll need:
T-shirt

Scissors

Pins

Pencil or chalk

Ruler or tape measure

Needle and thread/sewing machine
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lay your T-shirt flat. Make sure it's right side out with the front facing down.
Leaving about a 2-inch space down the shirt's middle, measure out two columns of lines about an inch apart. Make as many lines as you'd like, but make sure there's an even number of them. I made two columns of 10 lines each on my shirt.
Cut along those lines, making sure to only cut the BACK of your shirt, not the front.
Cut the side of every other line. When you're done, the bottom and top lines should be cut. Make sure you only cut the outside edge, not the inside edge.
Next to every cut strip, cut a slit down the middle column you left uncut.
Take your cut strip and bring it under the middle column and through the slit you just cut.
Each slit will accommodate one strip from each column.
Pin the strips back into place.
Do this all the way down your shirt.
Sew the strips into place by hand or by machine.
Show off your new skeleton shirt!
I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial. As always, please feel free to leave any comments, questions, requests or suggestions below.
Keep the DIY strong.
Pin It!
