In The Kitchen With Impish: How To Make Pizza (The Easy and Cheap Way!)

Hello, hello!

I was craving pizza right around lunch time today. Instead of picking up the phone and dialing for delivery, or hopping in the car to buy some, I decided to raid my pantry and make my own pizza.

Remember those flatbreads and wraps I told you to buy? (If not, you can go here and here to refresh your memory.) Well, we're going to use them to make some darn good pizza!

What you'll need:

Flatbread, wraps or tortillas (Flatbread works best, as they tend to be the thickest.)

Tomato sauce

Veggies/meat of your choice (I used onions, peppers and mushrooms)

Olive Oil

Seasoning (I used Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. If you don't have Italian seasoning, dried oregano and basil will work.)

Shredded cheese of your choice (I had cheddar on hand)

Non-stick skillet

Lid for your skillet

Plate

Bowl

Spatula

Pizza cutter/knife

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Put some oil in your skillet and heat over medium/medium-low. Add your veggies and meat and cook until golden brown. (You can cook for less time if you like your veggies crunchy.)
Once your meat and veggies are cooked the way you want them, add in your sauce and a few dashes of seasoning (if your sauce is already seasoned, you can skip this step). I added about a fourth of a little can of tomato sauce. You don't need to be precise, just add what you think will be enough.
Cook the sauce until it's reduced and thickened a bit. Pour your sauce into your bowl and set aside.
Add some more oil to the skillet. (This recipe is NOT very healthy, even if we are using light flatbread/wraps. But, by golly, it's delicious!) You don't need a ton, but make sure you coat the bottom of the skillet well.
Put your flatbread/wrap/tortilla into the oil and press down with your spatula a couple times.
When you see little air bubbles at the top of your crust, flip it over and fry the other side.
While the second side is frying, pour your sauce and toppings on top of the crust. Add your shredded cheese.
Turn the heat down to low and put the lid on top of the skillet to help melt the cheese.
Check after about a minute.
When your cheese is melted, carefully remove the pizza from the skillet and onto your plate. Cut it up and enjoy!
Sorry there are no pictures. Mom and I wolfed it down before I had a chance to grab the camera, but believe me, this pizza looks and tastes absolutely delicious!
